Visiting anglers staying are spoiled for places to drop a hook and line. Just behind the gate is the famous river Aulne with its rich salmon-fishing history. It makes up 65 km of the Nantes to Brest canal system which in its entirety is some 316 km long.

The river Aulne is a hybrid waterway, part natural river, as it has retained its natural meanders, and part canal with many locks (ecluses) dotted along its length. In past years visiting coarse anglers have stationed themselves behind the house where they have caught all manner of freshwater species, and for many, a personal best or two! For those fishermen who want to venture a bit further afield, there are many other fishing locations such as the St Michel Reservoir and other spots where anglers can enjoy many blissful hours communing with nature.

More FishWe have some fishing equipment for anglers to borrow (keep nets, landing nets, adult and child fishing chairs, a couple of rods), and there is a bait fridge, all included free of charge.

A review from Trip Advisor:

“For course or game anglers, Stang Korvenn has both a river and a lake within a few hundred metres. The spring-fed lake, a teardrop-shaped lagoon around 100m long, and virtually adjacent to the property, has, along with a range of course fish, a head of (presumably stocked) rainbow trout which range from the ones I caught on a fly (around 1.5lbs) to those that regularly leapt clear of the water like dolphins (up to 4lbs). Local anglers seem to prefer float or lure fishing here, and some were disbelieving when I told them of my success with fly, despite photo-evidence! The river Aulne, separated from the property only by a tow path, is more tricky, being both deep and fast-flowing, and success here seems to be best achieved by ledger or lure techniques, with large bream, roach and perch being a regular result. Tales of large pike didn’t seem to be too far-fetched. …… For convenience, quality and setting, this is a superb stay for individual or group angling holidays.”

Big FishThe perfect location for your dream angling holiday, to rival any of the best locations in Ireland or Scotland at a fraction of the price – adult holiday permits are (from June 1st) 30€ for 7 days, child 12 to 18yrs 10€! We can arrange permits for you at a cost of £15 per angling party.
